About Dr. Joe Lockavitch

Dr. Joe Lockavitch has spent his career on a single mission: proving that no child needs to fail at reading.

A former classroom teacher, school psychologist, university professor, special education director, and applied reading researcher, Dr. Joe is the author and developer of The Failure Free Reading Program, along with Joseph's Readers Talking Software for Non-Readers, Verbal Master (an accelerated vocabulary program), and other interventions for struggling learners.

His research has been published in the Journal of Learning Disabilities, the Australian Journal of Learning Disabilities, Special Services in the Schools, The Journal of At-Risk Issues, and Neuropsychological and Neuron.

Dr. Joe has been featured on the PBS NewsHour and discussed on national radio shows including Tom Joyner, Dr. Laura, Mike Gallagher, and Michael Medved. He is listed in Outstanding Teachers in Exceptional Education, Who's Who in American Education, and Who's Who in the South and Southwest.

He holds a Doctor of Education from Boston University and a Master of Science in Special Education from Southern Connecticut State University.
